Profile
Barbara has been quilting for 30 years and was one of the first members in Sydney’s Hurstville group. She is the president of Camden quilters and a member of Fibre and Textile Network, Southern Highlands. She started with English paper piercing 31 years ago and has come a long way since then. Today she teaches from home and at various shops. She has a soft spot for 1930’s quilts and has done research into methods used in those years. In fact, it has become a specialty of hers. She loves hand embroidery and uses it on her quilts.

When she was "little", she lived in Wagga Wagga where two aunts had a lovely garden. She still draws inspiration from those memories. A little secret she shares with us is that her children’s old trampoline comes in useful to dry quilts after washing them. Barbara’s favourite season is Autumn and this is depicted in many of her beautiful quilts. She feels she HAS to make an Autumn quilt every year. One in particular was inspired by Canadian leaves. Another delightful "cow quilt" was made for her husband who is an agricultural teacher.
